AOD-9604 — Gelling Notice
AOD-9604 may become gel-like (“gelling”) during laboratory handling if appropriate solubility
conditions are not maintained. Variables such as diluent choice, concentration, temperature, and handling
technique can all influence this behavior in a research setting.
From a peptide-chemistry perspective, some peptides are sensitive to pH during initial wetting and dilution.
When the solution environment is not within a suitable range, aggregation or gelling may occur even when the
peptide remains chemically intact.
Consistent with general peptide-handling discussions, some laboratory protocols for peptides prone to gelling
may reference the brief introduction of a mild acidifying agent (such as dilute acetic acid)
during initial wetting to gently adjust pH, followed by dilution into the selected research diluent.
